A new skincare range has arrived at Kamsons Pharmacy in Uckfield High Street. It is Mavala, a brand from Switzerland.
The Mavala range of nail varnishes has proved popular with Kamsons customers and staff hope the skincare range will too.
It uses Mallow flower and pure water from the Alps combined with Swiss botanic ingredients. There’s a test to identify your skin’s needs.
There are products to help you remove make-up and cleanse your skin without irritating, target your needs and transform your skin texture.
Paint your own pottery at Kilnwood Studio
A children’s egg painting competition is under way at Kilnwood Studio and you can paint your own egg cup or buy one ready decorated and personalised with an Easter egg already in place.
Spring planters are being hand-decorated for those who would like to buy the finished product and if you would like to commission your own pattern on pottery available at the studio please ask about that.
Up to 30 people can be accommodated for adult pottery painting evenings at the studio – 26 members of a WI were there this week – and there’s a colouring club held each Thursday from 10.30am.
Easter gifts at Josefina
Take a look at the new Easter window at Josefina to get an idea of seasonal gifts available at the hand-painted furniture, homeware and home accessories store in Uckfield.
While you are there you will also be able to see new furniture which can be customised to suit your needs and which is proving very popular.
More soft furnishings are now in stock too including cushions filled with duck down but covered in washable fabrics – all except the most fluffy Mongolian lamb cushion, already a favourite with many people.

Summer stock arriving at Chapter Three
Summer stock is arriving at Chapter Three practically every day now. Some occasion dresses are on display but the bulk will be delivered during April.
The next delivery from Postcard, a popular brand, is imminent and high-summer wear will be arriving at the end of May.
Shop owner Kay Bevan said there is lots of linen and cotton and Italian scarves in a mix of cotton and silk are selling well because they don’t make you as hot, and they don’t snag as do viscose and polyester.
Suede bags are going quickly but there are deliveries every month, and if you are going away bright holiday pieces are coming in soon.
Remember … Kay matches online prices for the fashion brands she stocks so you will save on delivery by buying from Chapter Three.
Spring arrives at Cole’s
New arrivals at Cole’s the menswear shop in Uckfield include jackets, trousers, short-sleeved shirts and T-shirts in lots of different colours.

Bikinis and board shorts appear at PipeDreams
Sunny days have seen the arrival of bikinis and board shorts on the shop floor at PipeDreams.
It is a sign of things to come for, while skiing will remain the main focus of the shop until after Easter, new stock has arrived ready for the switch to a summer shop.
Flip flops galore are already on display and there are bargains to be had among the bikinis and board shorts from last year which will make way for the new stock.
There’s a new fitness range at PipeDreams too.

Step inside the shop to smell the new ‘Walled Garden’ Collection from True Grace including diffusers and candles. The collection is inspired by the English garden, flowers, herbs, vegetable patches and warm glass houses full of ripe fruit.
There are new pictures in too to brighten up any wall. The Carvills team are particularly enjoying popular pieces from artist Catherine Stephenson where illustrations use intricate details to tell a visual story to ignite your imagination.
New on the menu at Hartfields
There’s a new menu at Hartfields in Uckfield.
Starters now include Smoked Salmon Tartare and Lamb Kofta. There’s a new salad too of Roasted Squash and Feta.
New mains include Quesidilla, filled baked tortilla with mixed beans, avocado, cheese, peppers and onion, herby salad; Pork Schnitzel, pepper, onion and potato hash, fried egg, tomato and spinach salad and Smoked Haddock Florentine with leeks, spinach, cheese and new potato gratin and toasted sourdough.
There’s also a new Barbecue Chicken Burger with barbecue mayo, smoked cheese and bacon – served with brioche bun and hand cut chips.
Evening specials include a starter of courgette and feta felafels and mains of Thai Green Curry, either with white fish and prawns, or roasted veg. There’s also a pulled pork topped beefburger with a brioche bun and hand cut chips.
Potpourii and money boxes among new stock at Chestnut Tree
Potpourii, money boxes, statues and glass paperweights are among new goods for sale at the Chestnut Tree charity shop in Uckfield High Street.
Assistant manager Mark Woodcock said they had been donated by another company and were proving popular with customers.
The charity shop raises funds for Chestnut Tree children’s hospice which looks after hundreds of local children with life-shortening conditions, their siblings and families, giving them the chance to live life to the full, for as much time as they have together.
Aromatic wax melts arrive at SG Home Interiors
Aromatic wax melts in a variety of fragrances which can be mixed and matched have arrived at SG Home Interiors at Bell Farm Lane, in Uckfield.
All are made by Bolsius and to enjoy the scents all you have to do is burn a tealight candle – which lasts four hours – while melting your choice of fragrance above it.
Diffusers are available too along with a variety of candles including rustic pillar candles in different sizes and colours including metallic, Champagne and burnt copper.

Special offers at PP Estates
PP Estates independent garden machinery specialists are running an ‘Old Mower Amnesty’ until June 30.
The idea is to encourage customers to part exchange their old mower for a new Hayter. You will receive between £25 and £100 off the purchase price of the new model, depending on the type of mower you choose to buy.
For customers wishing to ‘Trade Up to Toro’ there are even bigger incentives to trade in your old mower with from £50 to £300 off the cost of the new model, depending on your choice.
