Times gone by revealed at former New Town shop

The years are being peeled away as former shop premises in New Town, Uckfield, are converted into flats.

Builders are discovering that one sign has been added on top of another as the occupiers of the shops have changed.

The last business to be based at 37-39 New Town was Cannadines. Their kitchen, bathroom and bedroom showroom is now on the Bellbrook Estate.

But can you remember businesses there before that? Signs show that two of them were Concessions Bookmakers, and a Coal and Coke Merchants.
