Third netball court and 50 cycle bays included in amended college plan

Uckfield Town Council has welcomed proposed amendments to plans to rebuild Uckfield College.

The amendments would allow building of a third netball court, a revised location for 50 cycle parking bays, the location of a bin store, and screening for plant (mechanical) on the roof of the building.

Work progresses on the new Uckfield College main building.

A planning application to vary conditions applied by Wealden Council when the initial proposals were approved. They included demolishishing the existing main school building and developing a new two/three storey main school building, detached building to the south and associated landscaping.

Members of the town council’s plans committee discussed the changes at a meeting on Monday and said they didn’t have any objections to the changes.

The final decision about the application will be made by Wealden Council.
