The Battle of Waterloo, Magna Carta and Rugby were proposed as themes for the Uckfield Festival in 2015, when the organisation held its annual general meeting last night.
Rugby was a popular proposal as England are hosting the Rugby World Cup next year, writes Josh Gibbens.
Sussex Landscape was the theme for this year’s festival. Pictures can be seen here.
The 2015 festival will be held from July 10 to July 19 and one of the plans, announced at last night’s meeting which was held at the Belmont Centre, is for a series of short plays to be written by Bernard Tagliavini, based around Uckfield. A short story competition might also be held.
Festival chairman Dorothy Sparks thanked everyone who had made the 2014 festival possible and praised the ‘community spirit’ of Uckfield.
It was revealed a profit of £326 had been made from this year’s festival.
