The Flower Shop in Uckfield is moving

The Flower Shop in Uckfield is moving from its present location at 128 High Street and opening two new shops, one in Buxted and another elsewhere in the High Street.

Owner Lisa Hepburn said the rent and rates were too high for her to remain at 128 but she is pleased to be taking on a corner shop, next to the newsagent’s on the main road in Buxted. She will open her business there on Monday.

In another two to three weeks she is hoping to open a second shop back in Uckfield High Street but doesn’t want to reveal where at this stage.

She told yesterday: “I will be very sad to leave this shop and will no doubt shed a few tears when I close for the last time, but no flower shop could afford to be here now.”

Lisa has owned The Flower Shop for 12 years and has worked there for 17 years in all.

She said customers had been saying how much they would miss her and she felt very humbled by that. “It makes me feel very pleased that I will soon be opening in town again while also having a shop at Buxted. I’m very excited about the future.”
