This completed stretch of pavement runs from Boots to Bridge Cottage. Last week the old paving was being broken up here.

The difference a week makes to Uckfield improvements

Newly laid paving slabs can now be seen outside Boots in Uckfield with patches of work remaining to be done on the approach to the river.

Only last week our pictures showed that the surface outside Boots was being broken up. See: Pictures show progress on Uckfield improvement works.

Workmen can just be seen in a picture taken yesterday concentrating their efforts in the area of the bridge over the Uck. Week five of the works is nearing its end. Phase one should be finished by the end of November.

There’s more infilling to be done outside Bell Walk but efforts yesterday were concentrated on the bridge over the River Uck.

Across the road and further up where stone setts were being laid last Friday outside Wilmoths they can now be seen in place.

And here’s a reminder of what the new slabs look like on the side of the River Uck bridge that has been completed and between Peacocks and The Lounge.
