Strike means two days without trains on Uckfield Line

There will be no trains running on the Uckfield Line on September 7 and 8.

A map issued by train operator Southern shows how it intends to cope with the two-day strike by conductor-members of the RMT union.

It shows no trains on the Uckfield Line,a significantly reduced service from East Grinstead and a reduced service from Haywards Heath with trains expected to be crowded.

This is the latest strike in a long running dispute between the company and union over the future role of guards.

On each strike day in the past, Southern has not run trains to or from Uckfield.
