Pinks, reds, purples, yellows, there are splashes of colour across Staverton Nursery at Halland bringing a reminder that spring and summer are round the corner.
Easter is traditionally a time when gardeners start to look ahead towards lazier, hazier, days and there are plenty of ideas to make your outdoor space special at this vast nursery.
A new range of garden furniture has arrived, there are unusual outdoor lights, water features, giant metal flowers, and many other garden ornaments.
It’s too early for bedding plants but hardier perennials are available now and there are special offers to tempt you.
For example you can get 18 primroses for £10, or individually for 99p, and dahlia bulbs are buy one get one free.
There are starter plants for hanging baskets too.
Matt Cottingham from the nursery said sweet peas and ever-more hardy plants will be coming over the next few weeks, finishing with soft plants ready to go into the garden at the end of May.
Check out the trees too – a much bigger display area has been created for them.
You can also do some food shopping there. Fresh vegetables and fruit are available, including rhubarb.
At the moment windows are awaited which will be going into an extension on the right as you look at the building. Eventually a cafe will be created there – but not this year.
