This year’s run is due to take place on Sunday, May 11, and the organisers say that due to a change of circumstances the usual sponsor is unable to support it this year.
Sponsors have traditionally paid for medals and signage and, in return, have had their logo prominently displayed on promotional materials as well as at a stand at the event.
About 250 runners took part last year and this year, as usual there will be three runs to suit all abilities and ages.
The 1K is a children’s run and local schools often submit teams to raise money for their school. The 5K and 10K attract novice runners and members of local running clubs.
The routes are across fields and woodland in Barcombe and Isfield and paths are well marked and marshalled with water stations en route. All runs who complete their course receive a medal at the finish line.
A website has been created this year and more information and application forms can be found at www.littlehorstedfunrun.co.uk
The entry fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children. There is a family entrance price of £25. Runners can also raise sponsorship for the charity of their choice.
Any company interested in sponsoring the run should contact Nigel Woods on 07789 695432.
