Source of paper dropped on Uckfield by-pass discovered

Unused paper dropped along Uckfield by-pass last week – the source has now been discovered.

The source of a load of paper shed from a vehicle along Uckfield by-pass last week has been discovered.

Wealden Council appealed for witnesses and any information about the incident and says the source has been identified and enforcement action is in progress.

The council said at the time that the unused paper was spread along the road for several hundred metres between the Copwood and Black Down roundabouts, causing a distraction and danger to other road users.

Thank you

A council spokesperson said: “We would like to thank all those that contacted us with information, and also the Brighter Uckfield volunteer litter picking group that collected and bagged the paper for disposal.

“The company responsible has also offered to make a voluntary donation to the Brighter Uckfield group as a thank you for cleaning up the paper, and to support the great work they do for the local community.”
