Shuttle bus service will run to south Uckfield during roadworks

Update on Friday, September 19: Here is a link to the Uckfield shuttle bus timetable.

There are plans to run a shuttle bus service every half hour from Uckfield bus station to take travellers to the south of town while a one-way system is in place as major highway works are carried out.

The shuttles will follow a diversion for southbound traffic, heading down Bell Lane, along the by-pass, back into Ridgewood travelling and down to Framfield Road.

For buses travelling to Brighton and Lewes the timetable is going to change slightly so that buses travelling north will drop off via the bus station then go round by the by-pass to Brighton and Lewes.

Matt Reid, project manager for the improvement works outlined the proposals at a meeting held on Tuesday at Uckfield Civic Centre.

The meeting was held to give details of the road works, which are expected to take eight weeks, to people living or having businesses between Framfield Road and Bell Lane.

The roadworks are expected to begin on Monday, September 22.
