Uckfield Rugby Club’s Founding Fathers raised more than £700 for the charity Oscar’s Wish Foundation at a ladies’ night.
More than 50 ladies were welcomed, greeted with a glass of fizz and canapés, and served a selection of hot and cold food throughout the evening.
They were addressed by Gemma Kybert who set up the charity and there was a raffle which raised £190. There were other opportunities during the event to donate and discuss the charity’s activity with Gemma and her colleagues.
Later in the evening there was a disco.
Oscar’s Wish Foundation, a registered charity based in Sussex, is the nominated charity of the Founding Fathers this year. It offers comfort and support to parents, family, friends and siblings who have experienced the loss of a precious baby before, during or shortly after birth.
Founding Fathers’ chairman John Lewis said: “We were delighted with the response of the ladies in our community and their friends, and they all certainly had a great time.
“It was lovely also to see Gemma, the founder and organiser of Oscar’s Wish at the event and to hear her expanding on the charity and what it does.”
John said this was just one of a number of events run by the Founding Fathers who support a number of local charities. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
