Uckfield Rugby Club helped provide 57 Christmas meals for people in need.
Chairman Gordon Buckland thanked member Heidi Greenwood and everyone else who contributed to providing the meals and delivering them.
Gordon said Heidi approached the rugby club asking for help and then mobilised a team. “People and businesses of Uckfield could not have been more generous.
“There were donations from The Rotary Club, Uckfield Rugby Club, South Brockwells, Bridgers, and Isfield Farm Shops, Carvills, Waitrose, Josefina, Liam Miller, Adam Palmer, John Miles, Yannick Vuillemey, Jacky and Martin Ensom, and the Henderson family.
“This enabled Heidi and her team of Christmas Eve volunteers Olivia Greenwood, Joe Emery, Ceri Cliff, Andrew Heeley, Claire Ford, Paul Fletcher & Vicki Searle and her Christmas Day Chefs Susan, David and Alexander Newell, provide 57 perfect two course meals, accompanied with Christmas pudding, Yule log, mince pies and a goody bag with a card, gift, chocolates, sweets and a pot plant.
“This was then delivered by her elves who spread Christmas joy with door-to-door deliveries, Max, Jaz and girls, Becki & Andy Heeley, Vicky Lewes and her little elf Harry, Michele Poulter, Brian and Jane Muddle, Katie Weekes, Gary Greenwood, Joe Emery and the Buckland family.”
Gordon said feedback on behalf of two of the people who received meals included:
“Can’t thank you enough for delivering my neighbour the lovely meal and extra food today. I have just spoken to her and she spent 20 minutes telling me all about how lovely it was and how nice the lady was who delivered it. Thanks Heidi and to everyone involved you are all super special people for organising this. Happy Christmas 💕”
“I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart from my family I am truly touched emotional brought a tear to my eye for your kindness really does mean a lot and so very grateful xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx”
