Uckfield estate agents Rowland Gorringe have presented £100 to the Uckfield of Trees campaign.
The money was promised after two members of the team and their families helped with a tree planting session on New Year’s Eve.
Stephanie Bennison, with her husband Phil, and Mike Symons, with his wife Emily and their baby son Ben, all enjoyed that experience.
Stephanie said: “Mike and I are both local and we just love the countryside. We are both environmentally aware and enjoy being in the great outdoors.”
The money was raised during a late night shopping event in December – another donation was to be made to Uckfield Foodbank – and it will go towards planting a hedgerow in Halland.
Stephanie added: “Hedges are in real need of reinstatement. So many have been removed over the years and replace by wooden fencing etc. Hedges provide so much natural shelter for wildlife and sheltered nesting for birds, so we wanted to help this particular project too.”
More details about the planting of the hedgerow will be revealed later but Stephanie said she was impressed by the work done so far by Charlotte Whitestone who launched Uckfield of Trees.
“Charlotte has done amazingly in what she has managed to achieve in such a short time.”
