Cannadines launches new website

Cannadines, the Uckfield kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms, business which is based on the premises on the Bellbrook Estate, Uckfield, has launched a new website.

It can be found at and focuses on the ranges the company offers giving you a clear vision of what Cannadines can provide when it takes on a project.

You’ll find information there on their design process, the products they supply, and examples of previous projects they’ve undertaken for customers across kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.

Simmons Gainsford launches Personal Tax Clinics

Accountants Simmons Gainsford are launching Personal Tax Clinics with the first taking place next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 18 and 19.

Food and Drink

There’s a new look for The Picture House Restaurant, Uckfield, a new menu at The Alma Arms and new opening hours at Hartfields. There are also new dishes on The Blackboys Inn menu.

The Picture House Restaurant in Uckfield has a whole new look following refurbishment. It has been redecorated, there’s new furniture and flooring, and behind the scenes the kitchen has been overhauled too.

The Alma Arms has announced a new menu which includes sandwiches, starters and light bites, meat, fish, desserts and a children’s menu too. The kitchen is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12-3pm, and 6-9pm; Saturday, 12-9pm and Sunday, 12-4pm.

• Hartfields Coffee and Kitchen starts new autumn opening hours today. It will be open Monday to Saturday, 8.30am-5pm (last food 4pm), and Sunday, 9.30-3.30pm (last food 3pm).

• New dishes on the menu at The Blackboys Inn include: Homemade Steak and Ale Pie with mashed potato, seasonal greens, and gravy; Seared Scallops, proscuitto shards, pea puree and micro basil; Sage Crusted Goat Cheese Bon Bons, beetroot puree, and orange gel; Pan Fried Hake, herb crushed new potatoes, crispy kale, caper and lemon butter.

SLM Toyota grant provides boost for Children’s Respite Trust

SLM Toyota Uckfield general manager Paul Hardwell and marketing manager Mel Ball were pleased to see how Toyota grant money has helped an Uckfield-based charity.

They visited the Children’s Respite Trust where £1,800 secured by the dealership went towards providing a kitchen in the premises.

Service station set to be rebuilt

The Shell Blackdown service station sales building on Maresfield by-pass could be demolished and replaced if plans before Wealden Council are approved.

The proposal is to provide more space in the building. The canopy outside could also be replaced and more parking spaces provided.

Business mentor offers free two-hour consultation

Date for financial drop-in session in Uckfield

Thursday, September 20, is the date of a financial drop-in session being organised in Uckfield by Cranwell Wealth Solutions.

It will be held at Uckfield Civic Centre and adviser Peter Morris will be there to answer your questions on matters which can range from pensions, to investments, savings, and estate planning.

Estate agents Mansell McTaggart have moved to new offices just a few doors from their previous ones.

They can now be found at 204-206 High Street which was once the Dragon Inn Chinese Restaurant.
