Huge interest in progress on Costa Coffee drive through
There was huge interest in an Uckfield News story last month about progress being made on the building of a Costa drive thru on the outskirts of Uckfield, at the Ashdown Business Park, just off the A272 at Maresfield.

From conservation to sport Rix and Kay makes its mark
Two interests of the Uckfield-based law firm Rix and Kay were highlighted last month, first through its support of sports awards and then through an exclusive screening it organised of the film Flight of the Swans.

The solicitors who have offices in Ashford, Brighton & Hove, Seaford and Sevenoaks as well as Uckfield revealed its interest in conservation when it hosted the screening of Flight of the Swans.
The star of the film, Sacha Dench, who has become known as the ‘human swan’ was at the Picture House in Uckfield to introduce the film and talk about her role.
Sacha flew in a paramoter – a small propeller engine strapped to her back with a simple fabric wing -to accompany Bewick swans along their migratory route from Arctic Russia to the UK.

Raffle tickets are still on sale at W E Clark & Son jewellers and all the money raised is to go to the Children’s Respite Trust charity.

Grace makes yoga accessible to all
Did you see that yoga teacher Grace Annand is offering people the chance to attend her Thursday evening classes for the price of a £1 or £2 coin donation.
Grace, of Uckfield Yoga, wants to make yoga practice accessible to all, particularly those who wouldn’t consider attending a class for financial reasons.

Hairdressers complete 15,000 ft sky dive
Three hairdressers from Academy of Hair in Uckfield put all their fears aside to complete a sky dive for charity.
Natalie Edwards, Nate Stagg, and Nadine Dale, raised £800 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice through their efforts.
