A key stretch of road through Uckfield New Town is due to be resurfaced by East Sussex County Council on Friday evening.
The work is scheduled for between 7pm and 6am and is to resurface the northbound lane of the B2102 in the vicinity of the Applegreen garage and the United Reformed Church, near the Framfield Road traffic lights.
Council workers will return later in the month to apply a new anti-skid surface.
Drivers have been warned of potential delays with four-way temporary traffic lights being set up.
The council’s contractors will do their best to give access to homes and businesses. The advice for affected people is to talk to a member of staff on site.
People have been asked to park away from the affected stretch of road. Vehicles which are left in the way may be towed away.
