Restart a Heart Week was a big success in the Uckfield area.
Instruction and demonstrations were given at a number of schools plus meetings for adults.
In total, nearly 270 people attended sessions organised by the Field First Responders.
Faith Lee, Uckfield’s busiest responder, said: “It’s been a fantastic first venture into supporting Restart a Heart.”
Team leader Derek Smith, from Isfield, said: “Faith Lee and Helen Fairs have done sterling work between them in arranging and organising CPR [cardiopulmonary resuscitation] demonstrations and instruction to groups in and around Uckfield as part of the Restart a Heart campaign.
“Field First Responders will be happy to hear from any schools, youth or adult groups in the area that could benefit from learning the vital lifesaving skills of CPR and are keen to promote further training over the coming months.
“The visits over the last week have been met with overwhelming enthusiasm and clearly demonstrate the need for this instruction to be more widely available.”
