Extending Buxted Railway Station car park is off the agenda.
There were plans to enlarge the current area to the north and the land was opened up – only to be gated again.
The Uckfield Railway Line Parishes Committee was told that at present there were no plans to extend the car parking area at Buxted.
Members agreed to include the issue in its representations when the Southern franchise was up for renewal.
This is at present due next year.
Last July, this website reported that there was a mystery over the fenced off parking spaces at Buxted Railway Station.
The car park had appeared to be extended but then the area was fenced off.
Buxted Parish Council believed it was an issue with the lease of the land.
The area remains fenced and is used for storage of railway maintenance materials.
The committee also discussed services terminating at Crowborough and the service heading back to London Bridge which “cause great difficulties for Buxted and Uckfield passengers”.
The “Crowborugh reverse” happens when services run late and by missing out the last two stops, Southern can get services back to timetable.
Late-running causes particular difficulties on the Uckfield Line because much of it is single track to Hurst Green.
The committee will continue to talk to the railway operator on the issue.
