Recommend your favourite pub for Parliamentary chef award

Wealden MP Nus Ghani is looking for recommendations for pubs that you think should be nominated for the Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year Award.

Wealden MP Nus Ghani, left, is looking for pub recommendations.

She said many talented pub chefs serve delicious dishes up and down the constituency and she would like constituents to get in touch with her and to recommend their favourite local pubs.

She added: “We are fortunate to have so many pubs in Wealden that serve excellent food as well as great beer.”

The MP said pubs and breweries contribute a huge amount to Wealden, both socially and economically.

She continued: “As well as providing social hubs, the pub industry invests £2.5m each year into the local economy and provides 1,422 local jobs.

“This award is just one way in which we can celebrate the contribution that pubs make.”

Once the nominee, or nominees, for Wealden have been selected they will be entered into the full judging process before a final award is presented in the House of Commons early next year.

There will be a prize of £500 for the winner of each category.

Nominations close on Friday, October 27. If you would like to suggest a pub to be nominated by Ms Ghani please contact her via email at or on her Facebook page.
