RB Arts Academy in Uckfield is keeping its young members busy during lockdown even though they can’t get together in person.
Lessons are being held online and there have been West End workshops with people who have been in musicals, and masterclasses by cheer coaches.
Quizzes, bingo, fancy dress events, and scavenger hunts have also been held online, along with a bake-off where all the cakes were donated to key workers in Uckfield and surrounding area.
The academy’s cheerleading showcase, RB Arts Academy Show and dancing exams are all being rescheduled.
Cheerleaders and dancers have had their competitions cancelled but they continue to work hard online.
More people are now being taken into cheerleading competition squads so anyone with dance or gymnastics experience is invited to email RB Arts Academy for more information.
Company director Bexx Boutle, said children were taking to the changed circumstances well, and parents had been nothing but kind and supportive.
She added: “Our lessons are free online but we say that anyone wishes to make a donation the money can go towards paying teachers, for the workshops and also into a fundraising pot for when we have got our shows and competitions and we need to pay for costumes, and music for competitions.”
Bexx says she is hoping to reopen the Academy studios on the Bellbrook Estate in September.
There will be lots of new measures in place to keep students safe and they will be happy to take on any new students wishing to join them.
