People living within earshot of the Uckfield to Buxted railway line have been warned of works on the tracks which will last through the night.
Network Rail has said generators, hand tools and on-track plant will be in use from about 0050hrs tomorrow morning (Sunday, January 6) to 0430hrs on Monday, January 7.
“The equipment we use means some disturbance is unavoidable, but we will make every effort to minimise any unnecessary noise,” the rail infrastructure company said.
Future track works
It also apologised for any inconvenience “these essential works may cause”.
This weekend’s project is to prepare the track for future works.
Network Rail said it was obliged to work at times which would cause the least disruption to train services, meaning works often took place at night and weekend.
Replacement buses will run tomorrow between Uckfield and Oxted.
