Psychology business hopes to move to Uckfield’s The Office Village

Change of use permissions are being sought for a suite at Uckfield’s The Office Village.

The application from G.L. Psychology Services, of Nutley, is for Suite C at Arun House, in the office development off River Way.

At present, the property is classified for business use and the applicant wants that changed for use by non-residential institutions and assembly/leisure.

Uckfield Town Council plans committee agreed to support the plan when they discussed the application just before Christmas.

Cllr Donna French, who chairs the committee, said: “I am quite happy to support this.

“It is going to be used for mental health facilities which I think should be very welcome in town.

“I don’t see any problems with the parking or traffic at all.”

A statement with the application says the space would be used to see clients on a one-to-one basis for psychological assessment and intervention.

Operational hours would 9am to 7.30pm and no more than four clients would be seen in a day.

The suite would also be used as an extension to GL Psychology Services which incorporates ‘The Little Yoga Pod’.

The primary intention for this space is to offer small therapeutic groups which incorporate psychological (talking) therapy with body (yoga) therapy and meditation.

“This space is not intended to be another yoga studio. It is intended to offer a small, intimate and safe therapeutic space, for the promotion of good mental health,” the statement accompanying the planning application states.
