Progress on new station car park in Uckfield

These pictures show progress on the building of a new station car park in Uckfield.

They were taken from town council-owned land accessible from Forge Rise/Anvil Close.

There’s still a long way to go but they show both the size of the area and the extensive works taking place behind the hoarding which can be seen in the centre of town opposite the railway station.

The car park is being built by Network Rail and is expected to open in May.

Town councillor Mick Harker, who chairs the Uckfield Town Centre Regeneration Project welcomed progress saying: “This is excellent news for Uckfield commuters who will, at last have a station car park.”
