Praise for Manor Primary School panto cast

Foundation Stage children at Manor Primary School, Uckfield, gave a magnificent performance of their 2016 panto called, “What do you do when things go wrong?”

The play, written by Foundation Stage teacher Mary Gunn, drew together the themes of learning to learn, making good choices and perseverance all set to an ABBA musical score and narrated by Abba, the Elves.

The children took the audience of parents, grandparents, siblings and very proud staff on a journey into the “deepest, darkest wood where the trees are covered in twinkling lights and  where four wonderful elves who are truly the most helpful elves you could ever meet” live.

Their mission was to teach princesses to dance, giants to make friends, pirates to read maps, the Big Bad Wolf to stop eating people and Cruella de Ville to love animals.  All in the day’s work of a Manor Elf.

The audience happily joined in with “Oh, no you didn’t!” and clapped and cheered as the errant fairy tale characters learnt how to never give up trying to improve.

Mrs Margaret Coleman, headteacher, gave thanks to Mrs Gunn and Mrs Burden and all the Foundation Team and told the audience that she had watched the panto four times this week, and like the theme of the story, it just got better and better.
