Plans to fell three lime trees near Lime Tree Avenue, Uckfield

Plans have been submitted to fell three lime trees next to a footpath which runs from Downsview Crescent to Woodlands Close on the Manor Park Estate, in Uckfield.

The footpath starts across the road from Lime Tree Avenue, which runs beside Uckfield College. The avenue used to lead to Uckfield House, long since demolished. Volunteers now maintain many of the trees there.

Preservation order

The trees in the planning application, which are subject to a tree preservation order, are along the edge of the garden of a bungalow at 3 Downsview Crescent.

A planning application has been submitted by Mr Josh Bland of JB Treecare and Landscaping who says there are rot pockets around the trees.

He says client would like to re-plant a more manageable hedgerow and gain light to their property.
