Plans for nine homes in the centre of Maresfield are being considered by Wealden District Council.
Storm Homes is seeking to build one two-bedroom coach house, three two-bedroom houses, a three-bedroom house, two four-bedroom properties and two five-bedroom homes.
The site is at Park Farm Lane between properties known as Prospect Cottage and Selhurst.
Cllr Ken Ogden told a meeting of the parish council’s planning committee that he had been working with the council’s surveyor to put Park Farm Road “back in its correct position before any development” takes place.
Storm Homes, it was reported, had accepted the necessity for the correction which would reverse the encroachment on to the parish council land by the householders whose properties front the Recreation Ground.
The committee recommended approval of the plan subject to a revision of the plans.
Councillors felt the two biggest homes were unsuitable, one being described as “reminiscent of a riverside property in Lewes with a gantry for unloading barges”.
A number of nearby residents have objected to the plan.
