Plans for late night shopping in Uckfield take shape

Late night shopping takes place in Uckfield this year on Friday, December 6.

The High Street will close to traffic from 5pm and re-open no later than 10pm.

New among attractions for the event, which is organised by Uckfield Chamber of Commerce, will be a walk-through nativity in The Source at the bottom of Luxford Car Park.

Favourites returning will include the Lions’ Santa in Olive’s Yard, a hog-roast outside Uckfield Volunteer Centre, a performance by Universal Dance outside the Civic Centre, and an art trail organised by Uckfield Framing Company and hosted by estate agents.

There will be plenty happening in and around Bridge Cottage, primary school choirs will sing on a stage near Hartfields, and there will be more music on another stage, opposite Carvills.

Shops will take part in a Hunt the Elf competition and stalls selling festive food and drink will be found along the High Street.

Look out too for the Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice squirrel mascot wearing a Christmas jumper.

A late night shopping guide will be delivered in early November and you can find more information on the late night shopping Facebook page.
