Plans for 48-bed home in Uckfield

Plans to build a 48-bed residential unit at Ridgewood Rise, Uckfield, have been submitted by East Sussex County Council.

The proposals, which will be considered by Wealden Council, include consulting rooms and refreshment centre.

Documents submitted with the application say Uckfield is one of four sites which will provide care of the elderly facilities for the East Sussex Community.

There is already outline planning permission for the scheme dating from November 22, 2007.

The 48 bedrooms would have en-suite facilities and be arranged in four clusters of 12 rooms. Also in each cluster would be kitchen facilities, a day space, a dining room, assisted washing facilities and a quiet room.

The clusters would be accessed from a shared foyer and in that part of the development there would also be living space for community activity. There would be out reach care space for clinical staff and kitchens

Details of the application can be found here on the district council website Click on associated documents then on the second page click on the design and access statement for full details.
