Pharmacist Tim Golding who has worked in Kamsons High Street pharmacy for the past 25 years is on the move.
But he’s not going far – only to the pharmacy at Uckfield Community Hospital.
He said: “I will probably know most of the customers up there too.”
Tim has been a pharmacist for nearly 40 years.
He started by working for Savory and Moore in Uckfield which had a branch a few doors away from where Kamsons is now. A kitchen showroom is there now.
Then Savory and Moore moved across the road to the shop now occupied by Domino’s.
Eventually the Savory and Moore business was sold and one of the directors took on the Uckfield pharmacy giving it his own name The Green Pharmacy. Finally the contract was sold to Tesco.
Tim continued living in Uckfield but worked in a variety of other pharmacies across East Sussex and Brighton before returning to join Kamsons, previously Selby’s after it moved from the top of town where Sanchos kebab shop is now.
The current shop and the Kamsons business have grown hugely since then.
The shop has doubled in size and has changed a lot over the years and the business has grown from seven pharmacies in the group when Tim joined to 60 now.
He said: “It has been nice to be able to contribute to the successes of the company.”
Tim added that when you live and work in the same town you become part of the community and that is very fulfilling.
He said it had been a good 25 years and he was looking forward to his move at the end of the month to the community hospital.
