Manon from Royal Opera House

Manon opens the new Royal Opera House season and is to be broadcast at The Picture House Uckfield.

Marianela Nunez will be dancing the role of Manon and Federico Bonelli will be Des Grieux when Manon is broadcast at The Picture House, Uckfield, on Thursday, October 16.

Manon will be the ballet broadcast from the Royal Opera House. Kenneth MacMillan brings Manon’s story to life evoking brutality and decadence described in Abbe Prevost’s infamous novel as well as the feckless character of Manon herself, torn between love for the poet Des Grieux and her desire for money and attention.

At the ballet’s heart are the duets MacMillan created for Manon and Des Grieux which are described as being among the most emotionally intense and erotically charged ever choreographed.

Marianela Nunez will be dancing the role of Manon and Federico Bonelli will be Des Grieux.

Manon can be seen at The Picture House, Uckfield, on Thursday, October 16, at 7.15pm.
