OBE honour for Uckfield area resident

Professor Suneetha Ramani Moonesinghe was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Years honours.

Prof Moonesinghe, whose address in the official list was given as Uckfield, East Sussex, is professor of perioperative medicine and consultant anaesthetist, University College, London (UCL).

The award is for services to anaesthesia, perioperative and critical care.

Her interests are given on the UCL website as:

  • Risk prediction in major non-cardiac surgery
  • Evaluation and development of post-operative outcome measures
  • Measurement of quality in anaesthesia and perioperative care
  • Postgraduate education in perioperative medicine and anaesthesia (Academic Training Programme Director for London Academy of Anaesthesia)
