Nutley Windmill to feature within new set of stamps

Nutley Windmill is to feature within a new set of stamps being issued by Royal Mail.

The mill will be seen on the first class stamp which will be available from June 20.

The Grade II* listed building, which dates back to the 16th century ,was renovated by a team of volunteers and is the oldest working mill in Sussex.

It is maintained by Uckfield & District Preservation Society and chairman Brian Pike said: This stamp is a fabulous achievement and very rewarding for the volunteers who have given their time to keep the mill open to the public.”

Three each of the UK’s surviving windmills and water mills have been selected by Royal Mail to feature on the new set of stamps.

Those of Nutley Windmill, and accompanying postcards, can be obtained from the windmill, Bridge Cottage, the preservation society charity shop in Uckfield or the local Post Office.
