Nose2Tail Family Butchers of Piltdown have opened a second shop in Lewes.
Business owners Luke Watson and Danny Martin moved into The Riverside in Cliff High Street, Lewes, on Tuesday, 15 months after launching at Ashgrove Farm, Piltdown.
It was always their ambition to take over this particular shop and, while it has happened sooner than expected, they are excited to be taking on the challenge.
Danny, an experienced butcher, has previously worked in the shop they have taken over, and in two other butchers’ shops in Lewes. He is looking forward to meeting up with old friends and customers.
He and Luke, who also runs a farm at Burgess Hill, will move between Piltdown and Lewes while continuing to emphasise quality, provenance and taste as the cornerstones of their business.
They sell pork and beef from Luke’s farm, while lamb comes from Luke’s father-in-law’s farm at Golden Cross.
Nose2Tail sell every cut of meat you might request for any occasion, whether you would like it simply presented or specially prepared.
They also make their own sausages and smoke their own gammon, bacon, cheese and salmon.
And they look for quality in other products they stock such as fruit and vegetables, preserves and pickles, milk and eggs.
• Nose2Tail Family Butchers are open as usual during the new Coronavirus lockdown and are offering a delivery service.
Two people are allowed in their shops at any time and masks must be worn.
