Noah’s Ark is up for sale in Buxted and while this ark, unlike the one from biblical times, is on dry land there is plenty of water around it in the form of well-stocked fishing lakes.
The Buxted Noah’s Ark is a quirky, architect-designed chalet bungalow built by the present owner, in about 1990, who has spent many happy hours since then fishing in the grounds with friends and friends of friends.
But now he is moving on and Dixon Vince, the Uckfield estate agents who are marketing the property at Lephams Bridge, say that while it would make a beautiful home for somebody it also has the potential to be turned into a fishery business.
Julian Vince says there are two main lakes one stocked with trout and the other with carp and tench. In addition there are small breeding ponds, outbuildings, and outside lodges where fishermen can make themselves a cup of tea and sandwich.
There is also an office building and plenty of parking space.
Mr Vince said: “If somebody was interested in running this as a business then there is the potential for that to happen but equally it would make a super family home.”
Noah’s Ark is in a quiet spot at the end of a long track with no other buildings in sight yet close to amenities such as the post office stores at Coopers Green, primary school at Buxted and a local shop, railway station and inns. Uckfield is only a couple of miles away with its secondary school, good restaurants and shopping facilities, leisure centre/swimming pool complex and cinema.
Noah’s Ark has an entrance hall, lounge/dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, shower room, two dressing rooms, double garage with adjoining office and garden store.
It is on the market at £750,000. If you would like to know more please call Dixon Vince on 01825 765559 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
