No trains between Uckfield and Crowborough for seven weeks in new year

There will be no trains running between Uckfield and Crowborough for nearly seven weeks next year as Network Rail carries out work to extend station platforms.

The closure will run from Monday, January 4, to Saturday, February 20. There will be other periods of disruption when many trains will not run in November this year and in March and April next year.

Network Rail made an announcement about the effect of works on trains at a meeting in Crowborough this afternoon,

In addition to the total closure in January and February the company revealed there would be further disruption to the line between Uckfield and Hurst Green from Monday to Friday between November 2 and November 25 when the line will be closed between 09:20 and 16:40.

It is expected that the 08:34 service will run from Uckfield and the 16:08 service will run from London Bridge.

And there will be more disruption Monday to Friday, between March 14 and April 9 when the line will be closed between Uckfield and Hurst Green from 09:20 to 16:40.
