Night to remember for Sue as she steps down as chair of Uckfield Singers

Uckfield Singers organised a special evening to celebrate the eight years Sue Daniel has spent as chairman of the community choir.

Sue, who was was also a founder member of the choir ten years ago, has now stepped down from the role. She is looking forward to continuing to sing with them, but without the additional responsibilities.

Taking over from Sue as chairman is Nick Poole.

After the choir’s AGM there was a party where Sue was presented with a card made by Quinta Dean and signed by every member of the 90-strong choir.

Erika Pratt made a special ‘S’ cake of chocolate brownies, eclairs and strawberries and the Singers’ committee had a blue dish made for Sue carrying the words ‘Uckfield Singers 2009-2017’ and a musical note in the middle.

“They gave me a voucher too,” said Sue. “I am a very lucky lady.”

She said: “It was a very special night for me and one I will cherish forever. I will stay on and sing with the choir, they are such a fabulous bunch of people.”

Uckfield Singers remembered the birthday of member Brian Redman too and he was presented with his own cake. He can be seen with it below.
