The pre-school should open at St Mary’s Church Hall on October 31 subject to Ofsted registration.
For people looking for childcare before that date a limited number of places will be available at Maresfield for the first term with transfer to Buxted on October 31.
Stepping Stones has been serving the local community since 1968. It started off in Fairwarp and Maresfield village halls before moving into its current purpose-built premises in the grounds of Bonners Primary School in 2011.
The pre-school was judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2011 and in 2015.
The Stepping Stones charity is managed by a committee of parent volunteers working closely with a staff team led by an early years teacher/pre-school manager.
It is a fully-inclusive setting welcoming all children from two to five-years-old. If follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and offers a range of play-based learning opportunities both inside and outdoors.
Charlie Wilkinson, co-chair of Stepping Stones Pre-School, said: “Stepping Stones has strong links with local primary schools and this supports children as they move into formal education. The pre-school is also actively involved in the wider community.”
Opening hours are 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday during term time. Children attend for three-hour sessions from 9am to noon and noon to 3pm.
Eligible three and four-year-olds receive 15 hours a week free Early Years Educational Entitlement. This is also available for qualifying two-year-olds.
Any parents wishing to register their interest or apply for a place are asked to email officeadmin@
