New look and more space for Hartfields as it re-opens

Hartfields re-opened this morning after being closed for 24 days while the shop was extended and transformed.

The weather was perfect for new doors to be flung open and for customers to enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor seating.

Hartfields – a look inside the new shop.

Shop owner James Hartfield said he was delighted with the space which had exceeded his expectations.

He said: “It doesn’t seem real because this has happened so quickly. Everyone has worked so hard to get it done.”

There’s more room in the kitchen and in the seating area and James says the whole is “bigger, better and brighter”.

He said the surroundings were now in keeping with the standard of food served at Hartfields, exactly as he had hoped.

A pared-down Hartfields operated from a food trailer outside the shop while work progressed inside. That was removed yesterday and the new Hartfields opened this morning with the first customers being served at about 9.45am.
