The GCSE courses are free for those who have not previously achieved grade C or equivalent.
ACRES is delighted with the success of its students who took their GCSEs this year. There was an overall 100% pass rate.
Of 18 GCSE English students, 94.4% passed at Grade 4 and above. One student achieved Level 9 which is higher than the old A*.
Of 37 GCSE Maths students, 70.3% achieved Grade 4 and above.
The college said the GCSEs were more difficult this year with, for example, an increase in content for Maths of more than a third more work. Both subjects had pass rates that were well above other similar adult learning centres.
A spokesperson said: “Needless to say, we are very proud of all of our students this year.”
New English GCSE classes will be held at Uckfield Community Technology College on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Get on in English (Functional Skills up to Level 2) will be held at the technology college on Wednesdays, from 6.45-9pm and at Uckfield Civic Centre on Thursdays from 12.15-2.30pm.
An English Workshop (Functional Skills) will be held on Tuesdays from 6.45-9pm.
Maths GCSE classes will be held at Uckfield Community Technology College on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6.30-9pm.
Brush up your Maths (Functional Skills up to Level 2) will be held on Mondays at Uckfield Community Technology College from 6.45-9pm and on Wednesdays at Uckfield Civic Centre from 1-3.15pm.
