New 1,000 homes neighbourhood for Uckfield – consultation starts

Initial proposals for a new 1,000 homes “neighbourhood” in Uckfield will be unveiled today (February 28) at the Civic Centre.

Master planners John Thompson and Partners (JTP) will display its thinking for the 1,000 homes site at Ridgewood Farm

The development is being promoted by Welbeck Strategic Land, which has appointed JTP to draw up plans.

This weekend’s consultation will be held over two days.

Representatives from Welbeck Strategic Land, John Thompson & Partners and other consultants from the master planning design team will be available to discuss the draft plans.

There will be further opportunities to comment on the plan before it is submitted for outline planning permission.

If you are not able to attend the event the exhibition boards will be available to view at Uckfield library for two weeks following the event at normal opening times until and including Saturday, March 15. A dedicated website will be launched shortly at www.ridgewoodfarm.co.uk

The consultation at the Civic Centre is today (February 28) from 4pm to 8,30pm and tomorrow (March 1) from 10am to 1pm.
