A mural displayed in the NatWest Bank, Uckfield, is to be given a new home at the town’s Civic Centre when the bank is refurbished later this year.
The mural is made up of a series of paintings showing Sussex countryside scenes which were completed by local artist Gerald Parkinson in 1968.
They have been displayed high on the walls of the bank but are to be taken down for the refurbishment and will not be used again there and so the bank asked whether Uckfield Town Council would like to have them.
Councillors agreed to accept the mural which comes in five panels. Two of them are 244 cms x 92 cms and three are 122 cms x 92 cms.
They are to be displayed on the walls of the Civic Centre.
