Muddy fun for Ridgewood PO staff as they raise funds for charity

Staff from Ridgewood Post Office splashed in mud to raise funds for charity on Saturday.

They jumped into mud, slid into mud and fell into mud when they took part in Pretty Muddy, a 5km obstacle course at Maidstone.

Ellen Eastwood said they had a great time. There were ten obstacles to go through and the Ridgewood team managed it in 50 minutes.

Best of all they raised about £470 for Cancer Research thanks to generous customers as well as friends and family. Each of them took part because they know someone either fighting cancer, who had beaten cancer or been lost to the disease.

Three members of staff from Ridgewood Post Office, Ellen, Emma Taylor and Karen Varney were joined by a former employee Emma Naylor and by Ellen’s sister Ruth Eastwood.

Ellen thanked Post Office owners Jon and Sue Gothard for covering for the team at the Post Office in their absence.
