More than 20 Golden Retrievers had a whale of a time when their owners brought them together for a walk in Uckfield yesterday.
They gathered at Horsted Green Park, in Little Horsted, where they enjoyed gambolling around the open land and playing in ponds.
They came together through the Kent and Sussex Golden Retriever Group on Facebook which was set up by Millie Goad, who lives in Newenden, Kent, and which has about 300 members.
This was the first walk in Sussex and Millie said it was a great success.
Afterwards there was a warm welcome at The Highlands Inn for 12 of the dogs and their owners who enjoyed relaxing for a while before heading home.
Among the Uckfield walkers were Andrew and Natalie Wiles and their five-year-old retriever Bailey, and Donna Sherlock with her seven-and-a-half month old Not Alan – so called because a friend asked Donna not to call her retriever Alan because it was her father’s name.
The walkers agreed Horsted Green was the ideal place for their meet-up and they were pleased to be able to continue socialising at the pub.
Thanks to Millie for sharing her photographs taken at Hosted Green Park.
