More than 100 enjoy Uckfield Lions senior citizens party

More than 100 people enjoyed a Christmas party for senior citizens, organised by Uckfield Lions, at Nutley on Saturday.

The event was held in the village hall which was specially decorated for the occasion by the Lions while sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes were laid out for guests by their partners.

Club members provided transport using their own cars, the Lions mini bus and coaches too.

There was entertainment from Framfield Stagers, who sang country and western favourites, and performed a ‘leg dance’. There was also a pantomime reindeer and a lion character.

There were sing-along songs and a free raffle with many prizes provided by Lions members.

President John Carvey thanked the guests for coming and the Stagers for the entertainment and praised Lions and their partners for their hard work in preparing the party. He wished everybody a Merry Christmas.

Gifts were presented to each of the guests.

The Lions will now continue helping Santa and his sleigh make visits around Uckfield. Dates and places to be visited can be found on the Lions website.
