Residents in the northern part of Uckfield are bracing themselves for more traffic delays as workmen once again dig up the junction of London Road and Snatts Road.
Drainage, gas and other roadworks have seen this area face traffic restrictions on a number of occasions in recent years.
Snatts Road has been closed at times with traffic diverted to the Church Coombe area via Church Street – leading to long delays in London Road and the upper High Street as vehicles try to turn right across the traffic flow at the traffic lights.
Now motorists have been warned of more delays.
Three-way temporary traffic lights for “gas main connection” are in operation with the county council warning of the possibility of “high” impact disruption to drivers lasting until August 24.
