More progress on Uckfield community garden

More progress was made last week on a community garden being built in Keld Close, Uckfield.

Derek Hames, who works for SRL contractors employed by Wealden District Council, is pictured above on the neglected piece of land.

A concrete slab had been smashed and rubbish piled up ready to be removed once a skip arrived.

Derek was building a fence on Thursday to enclose the garden. Eventually gates will be added to access the garden from two sides.

A skip has now removed much of the rubbish on the land which is to become a community garden. This is a view through a gap, left for a gate, in new fencing along one side of the garden.

The new fencing has further tidied up the site of the new community garden in Keld Close. A month ago hedging was reduced in height.
