Three manufacturers of playground equipment showed their ideas for redeveloping the Luxford Play Area in Uckfield at an exhibition on Saturday.
Playdale Playgrounds, Wicksteed, and HAGS brought their ideas to the Civic Centre and Uckfield Town Council asked visitors for their feedback.
All three manufacturers, as requested by the council, showed designs for a shorter, wider play area than the current one to make it easier to supervise children playing.
All ages and abilities
All incorporated equipment for use by all ages, abilities, and disabilities.
Playdale showed two options each with interlinked areas, one for older children and one for toddlers, and with a seating area between them.
Wicksteed put their areas onto a continuous surface so there was no need to cross grass between pieces of equipment. Again areas are zoned for juniors and infants.
HAGS has designed their playground around a castle theme. It’s called Uckfield Castle and the Luxford Keep area is for younger children.
Some of the illustrations from the separate displays can be seen below.
Uckfield Town Council’s Environment and Leisure Committee is due to consider the feedback on proposals at a meeting on Monday, February 17.
