Everyone wore pyjamas for a sponsored walk at Manor Primary School yesterday thanks to an idea from Charlotte Cope who is pictured here with headteacher Margaret Coleman and school business manager Ruth Western.

Manor schoolchildren wear pyjamas for sponsored walk

Manor Primary School children donned pyjamas for a walk this afternoon to raise funds for Akamada a 13-year-old boy they sponsor in Uganda.

Headteacher Margaret Coleman entered the spirit of the occasion taking part in the walk herself wearing bright red pyjamas with red spots.

The idea was dreamed up by Charlotte Cope of Year 6 when a competition was held to decide how to boost funds for the school’s annual sponsorship of Akamada.

The start of the walk was delayed slightly by rain but children looked happy – see our video below – as they completed the challenge. There was plenty of water on hand to make sure they didn’t go thirsty on a hot day.
