Uckfield couple Madeleine and Richard Judge are bringing American Blues guitarist Toby Walker to The Highlands Inn, Uckfield, next month for a gig to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Madeleine fought breast cancer last year so she and Richard really want the event to be a great success.
The gig will take place on Monday, September 23, at 8pm, and is part of a 12-date British Isles tour being made by Walker, one of America’s leading blues and roots music guitarists and songwriters.
Walker said: “It’s been a few years since I’ve been back to the British Isles and boy oh boy, I’m sure looking forward to this upcoming tour.
“I know I’ll be meeting some new faces, as well as seeing a lot of my old friends. So, come on down and we’ll all have some fun.”
The tour starts on September 12, in Southsea, and features eight shows in England, two in Wales, and two in the Isle of Man.
Walker has toured the globe many times and blends blues, ragtime, country, bluegrass, rock and old time jazz into his own style, wooing the public, critics and his peers alike.
Also performing at the gig at The Highlands Inn is John Gregory (AKA Blue John), a fingerpicking guitarist and singer from the Isle of Man.
Music gear for the evening is being supplied by Uckfield-based Red Butler Music School.
Tickets for the gig are £12 and available from The Highlands Inn, Guitar House, and George Moss Jewellers, or via Judge.firstname.lastname@example.org.
